Scenario Task. Process Resources Outcomes Assessment
You are a group of spies for the court of the Mongols, led by Kublai Khan's great grandson, in the late 16th century. You have been ordered to gather information on the state and culture of Feudal Japan, by the Khan who is preparing another invasion of Japan, seeking revenge for previous losses.
Investigate life in Feudal Japan , concentrating on such aspects as social and political structure, leaders, specifically Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu, military resources and methods of fighting, the warrior code, castle fortification, religion and other cultural aspects. You must give an oral report to the Khan , accompanied by a multimedia presentation using the App of your choice, showing him what you have discovered.
You are to work in groups of three. You will be given a set time to spy ( 6 periods ) in Japan ( computer room ) to complete your undercover investigation and prepare your report to the Khan.
Each member of the group will spy on a different aspect of Japanese life, but must take note of the following; the weakening of the central power of Emperor and the rise of powerful Shoguns; the effects of previous Mongol invasions and the influence of Westerners, not only in respect to religion but the adoption of firearms.
Each group member must keep a diary of their research and each member will select at least 3 primary and or secondary sources, e.g. maps , diagrams, pictures or texts that you will smuggle back to the Khan , to support your presentation
